Making Progress.

When I first decided to make a website and open an online shop, I assumed it would all come together in a weekend. Maybe two, if I took snack breaks. Spoiler: it took slightly longer than that. But the good news is — things are finally happening, and I’m actually pretty excited about where it’s all heading.

My website is simple now, and honestly I’m happy with that. It no longer resembles a digital dumpster fire, and the homepage doesn’t actively fight me anymore. It’s clean, organized, and looks like a real thing actual humans might visit on purpose. Every time I fix a formatting issue or successfully move a menu, I feel like I’ve unlocked a new level in a video game. If there’s a final boss on WordPress.com, I’m convinced it’s named “CSS.”

Meanwhile, I’ve been working on the content side of things — which includes a recent attempt to film a scenic drive in Utah for my future YouTube channel. I envisioned wide-open desert, rugged mountain ranges, and that gentle hum of travel footage. What I actually recorded was… the entire trip in time-lapse. So instead of peaceful road vibes, I ended up with a 150-second cinematic experience of Utah at warp speed. Not exactly National Geographic, but honestly kind of entertaining.

Behind the scenes, I’ve also been chipping away at my Etsy page. The storefront is up, the branding is settling into place, and my shop no longer looks like it’s waiting for someone to turn on the lights. Products will be coming soon — stones, jewelry, and other shiny bits from my rockhounding and crafting adventures. Let’s just say my living room currently looks like a geology exhibit and a bead explosion had a child.

There’s still plenty left to do, but for the first time I’m seeing the pieces line up: website over here, Etsy over there, YouTube (eventually) in the corner, and the realization that I’m actually building something real. So yes — I’m making progress. And at this stage, that feels like a victory worth celebrating… preferably with snacks.
